According to the company’s Public Relations Office, a core pillar of the "New Bandar Imam" roadmap over the past three years has been the localization of vital equipment by leveraging the expertise of domestic knowledge-based companies.

During the Petrochem 1403 exhibition, Bandar Imam Petrochemical Company set a new record by signing over 94 cooperation agreements and contracts with Iranian knowledge-based firms to manufacture and supply critical parts and equipment required for its operations.

Among the key achievements was the successful domestic production of components for seawater pumps—widely regarded as the "beating heart" of the complex. These pumps play a vital role in providing cooling water to major units such as Olefins and Aromatics. Any failure in their operation could result in the complete shutdown of production lines. By producing these components domestically, the company has significantly reduced import dependency, improved operational resilience, and ensured production continuity.

In the field of electrical and instrumentation, control circuits and electronic systems for synchronous motors in the low-density polyethylene (LDPE) unit—which have been in operation since the 1970s—were fully redesigned and supplied by a domestic knowledge-based firm. These motors, once at risk of complete shutdown due to lack of spare parts, have now been secured with locally engineered solutions.

In the chemical sector, another notable success was the local production of the strategic compound Diethylhydroxylamine (DEHA), which was previously imported. After several years of R&D by Iranian firms, DEHA is now produced domestically at industrial-grade purity. This compound plays a crucial role in water treatment, corrosion prevention, and polymerization inhibition in petrochemical processes. It is currently in use at Bandar Imam’s SBR and MTBE units, eliminating the need for foreign procurement.

These breakthroughs highlight the growing technological capacity of Iranian knowledge-based companies and their essential role in strengthening the domestic supply chain for one of the country’s largest petrochemical complexes. By reducing reliance on imports and mitigating operational risks, Bandar Imam Petrochemical continues to lead the way in building a more resilient and self-reliant industrial ecosystem.
