According to Nouri Petrochemical Company’s Public Relations Office, the competition, judged by a panel of four international referees, brought together over 2,000 participants and more than 700 teams from countries including the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, Russia, China, Taiwan, Iran, Brazil, and others.
Hamid Rajai, Head of Product Development, Technology and Innovation at Nouri Petrochemical Company, highlighted the robot’s advanced features, stating: “Equipped with cutting-edge technology and artificial intelligence, the robot can accurately detect, collect, and separate oil slicks from the water’s surface with high speed and precision. This represents a significant environmental and engineering innovation in the field of robotics.”
The project’s booth at the competition attracted wide attention from both judges and visitors, with the team’s presentation on the development and future enhancement of the robot receiving strong recognition.
With this victory, the team has also secured a spot in next year’s global competition. Rajai emphasized that the focus now is on further improving the robot’s technical capabilities and aiming to repeat this achievement on the world stage.
The FIRA RoboWorld Cup, held annually in different host countries, is one of the largest and most prestigious international robotics events, showcasing cutting-edge innovations across robotics, AI, and engineering.
