The development coincided with a visit by senior executives from Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (PGPIC) and Persian Gulf Complementary Industries Development and Investment Group (Petrol).
According to the company’s Public Relations Office, Mahmoud Aminnejad, Vice President for Planning and Business Development at PGPIC, said during his visit to the Arghavan Gostar Ilam site on August 11 that all available capacities of the holding are being mobilized to secure sustainable feedstock and utility supplies for the plant. He emphasized that as projects approach their final stages, they enter their most critical and challenging phase, adding that the current Petrol team has played a key role in advancing the project to completion.
Adel Nejad Salim, Senior Advisor to the CEO of PGPIC, praised the efforts of the project team, noting that the presence of motivated young professionals alongside experienced experts has created a strong blend of youth, experience, and technical expertise. He stressed the need to prepare in advance for two critical areas: product sales and planned overhauls.
Hamidreza Khalili, CEO of Petrol, conveyed the appreciation message from PGPIC’s CEO to the execution team, highlighting that the new petrochemical facility—now on the verge of official inauguration—will expand Petrol’s polypropylene value chain, creating significant added value for shareholders, the Ilam region, and the national economy.
Ashkan Dashtizadeh, CEO of Arghavan Gostar Ilam Petrochemical Company, announced the continuous operation of the plant’s extruder—the most sensitive equipment in the Arghavan unit—as well as the commissioning of the main reaction reactor and the start of the polymerization process. He described this as a technical turning point, paving the way for the imminent production of polypropylene.
