According to the company’s Public Relations Office, a Petrofan Innovation Award evaluation meeting was held with the participation of award assessors, along with managers, experts and members of the innovation committee. The session reviewed innovative performance and technological achievements across research and development, process improvement, equipment localization and material indigenization.
Tondguyan Petrochemical Company has participated in seven different innovation awards this year with 12 projects, reflecting its systematic approach to advancing innovation and boosting industrial efficiency. CEO Maziar Madooli welcomed the assessors and emphasized the importance of embedding a culture of innovation throughout the organization, calling innovation “the driving engine of sustainable development and the key to leading technological transformation.”
The 30% funding increase demonstrates the strong technical and economic justification of the company’s projects, enabling them to attract significantly more support than initially forecast.
Among the flagship initiatives presented was the indigenization of a second-generation palladium catalyst, which has reached performance levels comparable to foreign samples and removed a production bottleneck—marking a strategic step toward industrial self-sufficiency. Additional innovation projects, including performance analysis and optimization of vertical decanters, have contributed to higher efficiency and boosted production by more than 32,000 tons while ensuring sustained process stability.
At the close of the session, the assessors commended the company’s achievements and called for continued support of R&D activities and further expansion of its innovation framework.
