Speaking at the inauguration of the third Iran Petrochem Conference and Exhibition on Tuesday evening at the Persian Gulf International Conference Center in Kish Island, Taghi Sanei, deputy for production oversight, supply chain and operational excellence at the holding company, said the event has become a key driver of domestic manufacturing uptake and industry engagement.
Sanei noted that Iran Petrochem 2025 marks the third edition of the event, adding that strong participation by domestic manufacturers and producers reflects the exhibition’s rising importance and effectiveness across the petrochemical sector.
He outlined the main objectives of the event as identifying the technological and innovative capabilities of local firms to meet the needs of petrochemical complexes, reducing the risks associated with domestically produced equipment, fostering commercial linkages, and building a three-sided ecosystem connecting manufacturers, producers and innovators at senior management levels, while cutting dependence on foreign suppliers.
According to Sanei, thanks to the efforts of domestic producers and specialists, no petrochemical or refinery company in Iran is currently forced to shut down or curtail production due to shortages of parts, catalysts or chemical materials, despite ongoing commercial and financial constraints.
He added that broader goals of the exhibition include advancing in-house technical expertise, monitoring global technological trends, empowering domestic companies and achieving economic efficiency through locally made products, which often have lower total costs than imported alternatives.
Sanei concluded that two key factors underpin the success of domestic manufacturing: internal coordination and system integration within companies seeking to use local products, and effective identification of capable suppliers—an area where exhibitions such as Iran Petrochem play a critical role by providing a comprehensive database of domestic manufacturers.
