Mohammad Shariatmadari told reporters that the fourth edition of PetroFan will be held from 6–8 December, noting that, for the first time, companies outside the PGPIC group—such as subsidiaries of TAPICO—are also presenting their technological needs within the event.
He stated that more than 287 knowledge-based companies have already registered to help meet the innovation and technology requirements of PGPIC and TAPICO, reflecting the growing traction of the event among Iran’s technology ecosystem.
Highlighting the “Petrochemical Industry Innovation Award” segment, Shariatmadari added that 58 petrochemical companies will participate this year. He emphasized that, globally, innovation and R&D serve as core drivers of industrial and economic advancement, enabling leading companies to safeguard their strategic market positions.
He noted that PGPIC, recognizing this global reality, has taken decisive steps to expand its innovation capabilities and strengthen its technological footprint.
According to Shariatmadari, PetroFan has been designed as PGPIC’s innovation and technology engine, serving as a strategic bridge between Iran’s petrochemical industry and the country’s broader innovation ecosystem. The event is intended to accelerate the journey from idea to marketable product across multiple technological domains.
He described PetroFan as a professional and dynamic environment for engagement among technology companies, research institutions, and scientific elites, providing a structured platform for addressing the industry’s technical needs using domestic capabilities.
In line with PGPIC’s innovation-management strategy, Shariatmadari said that the technological needs of the group’s subsidiaries have been mapped and converted into actionable projects through PetroFan.
He added that the event’s Innovation Awards foster healthy competition in ideation, project development, and technological problem-solving, ultimately strengthening creative thinking, addressing structural challenges, reducing dependency, and enabling sustainable industrial self-sufficiency.
Shariatmadari emphasized that PetroFan 2025 has the potential to evolve into the principal innovation hub for Iran’s petrochemical industry, supporting national technological development while enhancing the sector’s global competitiveness.
