According to Mobin Energy’s Public Relations Office, the joint venture agreement was finalized with the support of Mohammad Shariatmadari, CEO of the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company. The signing ceremony, hosted at Zagros Petrochemical Company and attended by Hassan Abbaszadeh, Deputy Minister of Petroleum, brought together Matin Didari and Hashem Najafi Ardakani to formally conclude the agreement, resolving a decade-long dispute between the two companies and paving the way for coordinated efforts to address regional power imbalances.

The new joint venture is designed to advance sustainable development objectives, mitigate energy shortages, and facilitate co-investment in new power generation units with a minimum capacity of 300 megawatts. The plant will be constructed at the Mobin Energy site within the Pars Special Economic Energy Zone, utilizing power generation equipment to be transferred from Zagros Petrochemical as part of the development program.

The agreement also specifies that, should future electricity generation exceed the current consumption levels of petrochemical complexes in the region, potential sales of surplus electricity to the national grid may be explored, subject to technical assessments and the necessary regulatory approvals.
