According to the public relations office of Bandar Imam Petrochemical Company, the initiative reflects the company’s growing commitment over the past three years to strengthening partnerships with universities, science and technology parks, and knowledge-based enterprises. This strategic approach aims to enhance productivity, localize technical know-how, and reduce dependence on foreign technologies.
In the latest achievement under this framework, BIPC and Ferdowsi University of Mashhad collaborated to develop and implement a comprehensive olefins unit simulator, designed and optimized by the university’s Faculty of Chemical Engineering in cooperation with BIPC’s specialized technical teams.
The project, completed over 18 months, resulted in a simulation system comprising 12 key subprocesses, providing operators with a powerful tool for predicting unit performance and output behavior under varying feedstock conditions.
The system’s capabilities enable real-time optimization and predictive analysis, offering operational insights that improve efficiency, reduce energy consumption, and enhance process reliability.
This joint innovation is regarded as a milestone in advancing the technological capabilities of Iran’s petrochemical industry and demonstrates the tangible outcomes of industry–academia collaboration in driving sustainable industrial development.
