According to the public relations office of Howeizeh Gas Refining Company, CEO Afshin Kiani highlighted the significance of the new transfer project, noting that Howeizeh plays a dual role: reducing gas flaring while ensuring a stable feedstock supply for downstream industries.
Kiani described the project as a milestone in the development of Iran’s petrochemical sector, adding that the transfer of Dehloran’s products to Bandar Imam, following processing at Howeizeh, began on the occasion of the Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) birthday.
Dehloran has a production capacity of 20,000 barrels per day, with initial operations starting at 6,500 barrels and gradually ramping up. The total feedstock transfer through Howeizeh to Bandar Imam is expected to range between 28,000 and 41,500 barrels per day.
He further explained that Dehloran’s output enters the NGL 3200 network at Howeizeh for processing before being delivered to Bandar Imam as feedstock. On average, Howeizeh transfers about 35,000 barrels of ethane-plus daily, producing LPG, pentane, propane, and butane, while increasing ethane’s share in Bandar Imam’s feedstock mix, thereby enhancing downstream value creation.
Morad Bahrami, manager of the Howeizeh complex, emphasized that operational challenges were resolved through the efforts of Howeizeh’s workforce to prepare the transfer route.
“This marks the first time Dehloran’s production has entered the supply chain,” Bahrami noted, stressing that Howeizeh Gas Refinery is the only viable transfer route for this feedstock.
