Launched with the presence of Mohammad Shariatmadari, CEO of the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (PGPIC), the installation of the state-of-the-art reactor, whose transport to Iran faced numerous logistical challenges, represents a crucial milestone for the project’s completion, the company’s public relations office said in a statement.
Designed with advanced technology, the unit is expected to significantly boost the nation’s urea production capacity and strengthen Iran’s position in global markets.
During the visit, Shariatmadari underscored the strategic importance of petrochemical development within the framework of a resilient economy. He noted that commissioning the urea reactor would not only expand nitrogen-based product output but also help complete the value chain and enhance non-oil exports, positioning urea as a key driver of foreign currency revenue.
Highlighting the role of human capital in the industry’s progress, Shariatmadari praised the dedication of workers and employees as the most valuable assets of the petrochemical sector. He emphasized that such advancements would not have been possible without their commitment and effort.
Addressing the current economic and regional challenges, he expressed confidence that, guided by the leadership of the Supreme Leader, Iran would overcome difficulties through unity, perseverance, and self-reliance, moving steadily toward stability and sustainable development.
Shariatmadari concluded by reaffirming PGPIC’s commitment to sustainable growth, noting that the project reflects the group’s determination to strengthen industrial infrastructure, reduce external dependencies, and advance long-term goals in a knowledge-based economy.
