Environmental Protection and Water Conservation
Fajr Energy operates two large industrial wastewater treatment plants that annually purify nearly six million cubic meters of highly contaminated petrochemical effluents. A major portion of this treated water is reused for green-space irrigation in the industrial zone, significantly reducing pollution and preserving the Persian Gulf ecosystem.
Over the past four years, the company’s water recycling initiatives have reduced withdrawals from the Karun River by over 55 million cubic meters—an amount equivalent to one year of drinking water for 700,000 people or the annual industrial water consumption of the region’s petrochemical complexes.
Energy Security and Reliability
During Khuzestan’s most challenging summers, Persian Gulf Fajr Energy Company has supplied over 10 billion kilowatt-hours of stable electricity in seven years—helping prevent blackouts for nearly 600,000 residents while supporting continuous petrochemical operations across the region.
Cultural and Social Investment
The company’s social outreach includes donating power cables and electrical equipment to strengthen municipal lighting networks, supporting housing for vulnerable families, funding student science fairs, and backing national athletes—all aimed at fostering hope, opportunity, and youth empowerment.
Healthcare and Public Well-being
In the health sector, Fajr Energy has donated two 1,250 kVA diesel generators to the Petrochemical Industries Hospital, provided laparoscopy equipment to Nowid Hospital in Bandar Imam, and supplied liquid oxygen shipments to local medical centers—reinforcing its role as a partner in public health, not just an industrial enterprise.
Transparency and Accountability
Through the regular publication of sustainability reports over the past decade—including its sixth biennial GRI-aligned report for 2021–2022—Fajr Energy has reaffirmed transparency and responsibility as the cornerstones of its corporate identity.
