According to the company’s public relations office, Bidboland specialists have developed domestically produced iso-octane with extremely high purity and sulfur content below 1 ppm, a critical requirement for the accurate performance of Total Sulfur analyzers used to determine the sulfur level of export-grade samples.
For years, limited availability and high procurement costs of imported iso-octane posed a challenge to the monitoring and certification of the country’s export-bound pentane plus products. Leveraging pentane-plus fractions produced at the complex and implementing advanced vacuum-distillation processes, the Bidboland technical team succeeded in manufacturing this esential solvent at a quality superior to imported alternatives.
This achievement not only eliminates the need for imports and reduces foreign currency expenditures but also enhances sulfur-analysis accuracy, streamlines quality-control procedures, and boosts the reliability of laboratory results. From now on, domestically produced iso-octane from Bidboland will be available to petro-refining laboratories nationwide at significantly lower cost and with consistent quality.
