The system has demonstrated outstanding performance and earned the Iranian Top Innovator Award.
According to the company’s public relations office, the initiative addresses a long-standing challenge in HDS units and refinery laboratories across the country. Conventional CO/CO₂ analyzers have limited efficiency in the presence of methane, and hydrogen measurement traditionally required the use of a separate, costly residual gas analyzer (RGA).
Through a creative approach grounded in domestic expertise, the Bidboland Gas Refinery’s engineering team redesigned the existing system, enabling the simultaneous measurement of all three key gases in a single run.
Key technical outcomes include extending the GC catalyst lifespan from three to five years, reducing maintenance costs, and eliminating the need for expensive imported RGA equipment.
The modular design of the new system also ensures ease of installation and operation in refinery units, requiring minimal modifications.
