According to the company’s public relations office, the proposed facility is designed to enhance supply chain efficiency and streamline the transport of products—particularly liquid caustic soda. Based on the initial plan, an estimated 10 to 15 percent of caustic soda customers would be able to utilize rail transport through specialized wagons and the national rail network.
The presence of existing rail infrastructure within the Mahshahr Special Economic Zone and its close proximity to Arvand Petrochemical Company’s site was highlighted as a key advantage. Rail transport is expected to increase loading and delivery speed and accuracy, reduce truck traffic in the industrial zone, and improve the safety of chemical shipments.
During the meeting, the director general of Iran Southern Railway Company emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation with the petrochemical sector and confirmed full readiness to provide technical support and accelerate the establishment of the rail-loading station. Representatives of Arvand Petrochemical Company reiterated the company’s commitment to continuous improvement in logistics operations and enhancing customer satisfaction.
The session concluded with an agreement to begin development of the rail-loading facility as soon as possible through coordinated cooperation among Arvand Petrochemical Company, Iran Southern Railway Company, and the Mahshahr Special Economic Zone Organization.
