According to the company’s public relations office, valves—vital components for controlling fluid flow and maintaining the safe and efficient operation of petrochemical units—had deteriorated after more than a decade of continuous service. Originally produced by leading European brands such as Tayco and Phoenix, these valves were restored under a comprehensive internal refurbishment and outsourcing program.
As part of the project, technical teams classified the valves by type, including Gate, Globe, Ball, Butterfly, and Plug Valves, before carrying out reverse engineering, repairs, and extensive pressure and performance testing under the supervision of the company’s inspectors.
The restoration was completed at only 25 to 30 percent of the cost of new equipment, and the valves were approved for reinstallation after final inspections.
Technically and economically, the project resulted in major achievements, including substantial foreign exchange savings through reduced imports, higher asset efficiency, less industrial waste, and the transfer of technical expertise in valve refurbishment to local teams. It also strengthened the domestic value chain and supported knowledge-based Iranian companies in advancing the petrochemical sector.
