In a major step toward sustainable production and reduced reliance on foreign engineering services, Iranian experts at Arvand Petrochemical Company have completely reconstructed and improved a German-made AUBEMA Salt Crusher. This achievement, carried out domestically for the first time, marks a meaningful advance toward production stability and lower dependence on external technical support.
According to Arvand Petrochemical’s Public Relations Office, the project aligns with the company’s overarching policy of strengthening local capabilities and leveraging indigenous know-how for the maintenance and repair of critical industrial systems.
The Salt Crusher is a vital component of the Salt Washing Unit, responsible for crushing mineral salt lumps before the dissolution phase. This process ensures optimal particle sizing (between 1 and 10 millimeters) and enhances the quality of the salt solution fed into downstream units.
Following a comprehensive mechanical redesign, the 65-ton-per-hour crusher now operates with greater efficiency, reduced vibration, and improved performance stability compared with the original version.
All engineering design, manufacturing, machining, and component optimization phases were completed within three months through joint efforts by the plant’s maintenance engineers and specialists at Sadra Parts Manufacturing.
Technical experts emphasize that the successful completion of this project has improved process efficiency, enhanced salt solution quality, increased reliability of downstream equipment, reduced maintenance costs, and delivered significant foreign-exchange savings.
This technical milestone stands as a testament to the expertise of Arvand Petrochemical Company’s engineers in reconstructing and optimizing heavy industrial equipment.
