New CEO of Urmia Petchem Plant Appointed

TEHRAN, May 22 (PGPIC) – Zohreh Majidnia has been appointed CEO of Urmia Petrochemical Company, marking a significant step in promoting gender diversity in Iran’s petrochemical sector, the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Development and Investment Group (PGPDIG) announced on Wednesday.

The appointment was made by the CEO of the group, a subsidiary of the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (PGPIC), as part of a broader strategy to strengthen merit-based leadership and enhance female representation in executive roles.

Majidnia, who holds a PhD in Chemistry, is a seasoned industry executive with prior roles including executive board member and head of commerce at Sabalan Petrochemical, acting director of the Sabalan Petrochemical complex, and board member of both Shiraz and Khorasan Petrochemical Companies.

Her appointment is seen as a move to leverage her extensive experience to advance Urmia Petrochemical’s strategic goal of completing the production value chain.

The CEO of the holding group expressed confidence that Majidnia’s leadership would pave the way for substantial progress at the company, given her strong track record and professional capabilities.
