According to Shahid Tondguyan Petrochemical Company’s Public Relations Office, during a recent visit, company CEO Seyed Reza Ghasemi Shari welcomed the guests and presented a report highlighting the company’s achievements in reducing pollution, enhancing safety levels, and overcoming production challenges through domestic capabilities and cooperation with knowledge-based firms. He also outlined the company’s future plans.
The session, attended by Khademian, PGPIC’s HSE Director, featured a comprehensive presentation by Complex Director Amin Malekzadeh on the company’s environmental projects implemented since 2019. Malekzadeh also introduced new initiatives aimed at removing the company from the official list of polluting industries by the end of 2026, enabling it to be recognized as a “green industry” and ensuring its wastewater output meets the acceptable standards of the Department of Environment.
The meeting also addressed obstacles preventing the company from reaching its nameplate production capacity.
Taghi Sanaei, Acting Vice Head of Production Oversight and Supply Chain at PGPIC, identified delisting subsidiaries from the polluting industries register as the group’s top priority, followed by water recycling and reducing reliance on freshwater sources, which he stressed as vital for industrial sustainability under Iran’s climatic conditions.
The session concluded with an emphasis on the urgent implementation of environmental projects to achieve the set targets and improve the company’s environmental performance.
