TEHRAN, May 18, 2025 – In a bid to deepen bilateral industrial ties, Iran has proposed the creation of a permanent cooperation desk for the petrochemical sector with Uzbekistan.

The initiative was announced during a meeting between Mohammad Shariatmadari, CEO of the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (PGPIC), and Shokhruh Gulomov, Uzbekistan’s Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade.

Shariatmadari stated that the proposed desk could serve as a standing secretariat to coordinate strategic cooperation in the industry. He also expressed PGPIC’s readiness to draft a comprehensive roadmap for collaboration, support marketing of Uzbek products in Iran, and offer technical training to Uzbek personnel.

Gulomov welcomed the proposal, signaling Uzbekistan’s willingness to pursue joint investments and calling for the development of a structured training system for human resources in the petrochemical sector.
