Dehdasht Petrochemical Industries Company has officially secured the final environmental approval for the construction of a 44-megawatt combined cycle self-sufficient power plant. The announcement was made by Mohammad Shokri, CEO of the company, who emphasized the strategic importance of this milestone for ensuring sustainable energy supply and fostering economic development in the region.
According to the company’s public relations office, Shokri expressed his appreciation for the cooperation and support of the Department of Environment of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province. He noted that the environmental impact assessment session for the project was held yesterday with the presence of provincial environmental officials, experts, and evaluation committee members. Following the presentation of technical reports and on-site inspections, the environmental permit was granted.
Providing further details, Shokri explained that the Dehdasht Petrochemical combined cycle power plant, with a capacity of 44 megawatts, will not only provide a stable power supply for the petrochemical complex but will also contribute significantly to the stability of the provincial power grid.
As Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dehdasht Petrochemical Industries Company, Shokri also highlighted that the advanced power plant will be developed in collaboration with MAPNA Group, utilizing domestic capabilities and modern technologies. The project is expected to generate both direct and indirect employment opportunities.
In conclusion, Shokri stressed that the implementation of this project—executed in coordination with executive bodies and under the supervision of regulatory agencies, particularly the provincial Department of Environment—is aligned with the goals of sustainable development, full compliance with environmental standards, and strengthening of the energy infrastructure in southern Iran.
