The Petrochemical Industries Development Management Company (PIDMCO) has reaffirmed its commitment to the East Karoun flare gas recovery project, following a two-day on-site inspection led by CEO Mostafa Motadayyen, accompanied by executives from Bidboland Gas Refining Company and a technical task force.
The delegation visited critical project sites, including the Pazanan-1 dehydration unit, Aghajari power substations (stations 1–5), and dehydration and compression facilities at multiple Aghajari stations, PIDMCO’s Public Relations Office said in a statement. Technical meetings were also held to address engineering challenges and accelerate project timelines.
Motadayyen praised the project’s progress, noting that 10 flare stacks have already been decommissioned and connected to the recovery system, thanks to coordinated efforts among contractors, clients, and the National Iranian South Oilfields Company.
“This is a strategic national initiative—not only for its environmental benefits but also for preventing the loss of valuable energy resources,” he said. “Our mission is to turn smoke into profit, converting flared gas into economic assets and long-term national value.”
He further highlighted the tireless efforts of PIDMCO’s engineers and project management teams, commending the Management Contractor (MC) unit for being one of the company's top performers last year. Motadayyen expressed confidence in the team’s ability to deliver the project with speed and precision.
In closing, he emphasized PIDMCO’s full dedication to completing the project and acknowledged the contributions of all personnel involved. “We hope this project becomes a lasting and proud milestone in the company’s legacy—one that meaningfully contributes to the advancement of Iran’s oil and gas sector.”
