The main goal of the Autism Association’s presence at the exhibition was to educate the public, attract donors, and identify families with children on the autism spectrum, offering support for the financial burdens these families face.

The initiative garnered significant attention, with many visitors approaching the booth to ask questions they had long held about autism. These interactions allowed people to better understand how to approach individuals and families affected by the disorder. This initiative aligns with Persian Gulf Petrochemical’s corporate social responsibility efforts, aiming to increase public awareness of autism, a condition with a rapidly growing prevalence in recent years.

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder that affects brain function, causing difficulties in how different parts of the brain work together. It typically manifests in the first three years of life and lasts throughout a person’s lifetime. Symptoms include challenges in communication, social interactions, repetitive behaviors, and a limited range of interests. According to statistics, approximately one in every 100 children is affected by autism.

It is important to note that autism is not a disease and does not have a definitive medical cure. However, with therapy, education, and support, individuals with autism can develop various skills.
