The Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (PGPIC) convened the first session of its Strategic Committee on Process Safety Management (PSM), following the CEO’s directive emphasizing the critical role of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) compliance and the enhancement of safety systems in achieving continuous and secure production.
The meeting brought together senior managers and heads of relevant departments to evaluate key implementation strategies and optimize execution approaches for the PSM system across the group’s affiliated petrochemical companies.
During the session, committee members engaged in in-depth discussions on the requirements, challenges, and improvement strategies for PSM. Core topics included the development of actionable plans, strengthening of safety culture, continuous monitoring of operational processes, and alignment with international safety standards.
The committee underscored the vital role of process safety in sustainable industrial development, calling for coordinated efforts among various departments to ensure the effective implementation of the system. Emphasis was also placed on ongoing personnel training and the integration of modern technologies to mitigate potential risks.
The Strategic Committee will convene periodically to monitor and evaluate the progress of PSM initiatives within the group's subsidiaries. The implementation of this system is expected to significantly improve safety performance, reduce incidents, and enhance overall efficiency in petrochemical operations.
