Mahshahr Megaproject Set for Major Progress in 2025, CEO Says

TEHRAN, May 28 (PGPIC) – The CEO of Almaas Mahshahr Petrochemical Company said on Tuesday that the company is poised for a significant acceleration in the development of its flagship megaproject in 2025, pending the expected financial support.

Speaking at the company’s annual general meeting, held at the headquarters of the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (PGPIC), CEO Mehdi Qarouni reported a 12% overall progress in the Almaas Mahshahr megaproject so far and outlined the company’s achievements during the fiscal year ending March 2025.

Qarouni also acknowledged shareholder support and stressed that detailed planning has been conducted to align the project’s progress with the 2025 schedule. He expressed optimism that, with secured financing, the megaproject’s progress could exceed 30% by the end of that year.

Following his remarks, Morteza Rahimian Saray, Head of Assemblies at PGPIC and chair of the meeting, reaffirmed the holding company’s longstanding commitment to backing strategic national projects, including Almaas Mahshahr, which he described as a high value-added driver of economic growth.

The shareholders' meeting also reviewed and unanimously approved the company’s audited financial statements for the fiscal year ending March 2025. The audit was conducted by Saman Pendar, which was reappointed as the independent auditor and legal inspector for the 2025 financial year. The widely circulated Ettelaat newspaper was selected to publish the company’s official notices.
