Iran develops strategic SPVC sieving machine domestically, cutting reliance on imports

TEHRAN, May 3 (PGPIC) – Iranian engineers have locally manufactured a strategic sieving machine used in SPVC (Suspension Polyvinyl Chloride) production at Arvand Petrochemical Company, marking the first time the technology has been domesticated in the country, according to a company statement on Friday.

The “Product Sieve Machine,” which plays a crucial role in grading PVC powder and maintaining product quality, had previously been imported from Germany’s J. Engelsmann AG. It has now been fully developed domestically in cooperation with Iran-based Komak Sanat Jonoub.

Built with stainless steel SS316L and capable of screening up to 12,500 kilograms of SPVC powder per hour, the machine separates coarse and off-spec particles that could otherwise degrade the final product.

Arvand Petrochemical said the project took two years to complete under close supervision of its Technical Services Department. The localized production has saved an estimated €60,000 in foreign currency and supports the country’s broader goals of economic resilience and industrial self-sufficiency.

The machine is currently operational in Unit 450 of Arvand’s SPVC complex and is expected to improve both product quality and economic value.
