The MoUs were signed on the sidelines of the event by Sepehr Ansari-Nik, BIPC CEO; Alireza Afsharifar, President of Shiraz University; and Mohammad Jafarpoor, Head of the Telecommunication Company of Iran.
The agreement with Shiraz University aims to foster cooperation in research, education, and technical knowledge development to support the technological and process needs of BIPC.
“Given the scale of our operations, cooperation with Shiraz University is a necessity,” Ansari-Nik said. “In line with this year’s national motto, ‘Investment for Production,’ we view all joint research efforts under this MoU as productive investments and invite university researchers to engage with our industrial challenges.”
Afsharifar noted that Shiraz University, with its 80-year legacy and academic capacity, is well-positioned to support such partnerships. “BIPC is a leading petrochemical company, especially in terms of value-added production. This agreement opens a new chapter in linking academia and industry.”
The second MoU, signed with the Telecommunication Company of Iran, focuses on enhancing technological infrastructure within the petrochemical complex, including the design, supply, implementation, and operation of advanced digital systems.
Jafarpoor expressed hope that the partnership would pave the way for significant developments in data infrastructure and AI-driven applications across the oil and petrochemical sectors. “This agreement marks a step toward high-speed connectivity and data-driven efficiency,” he said.
Ansari-Nik added that the deal aligns with the development agenda of the “New Bandar Imam” initiative and seeks to leverage the telecom company’s technological expertise to advance the complex’s digital transformation.
